Archaeology In Your County

People have lived in North Carolina for an extremely long time and the evidence for their lives is all around us, even when we don’t realize it – including in your own county. In this section of the website, you can see pictures of some of the artifacts that have been found around you. Blue counties are those that we currently have artifact photos for; counties that appear white do not have any photos. One of the continuing projects of the RLA is to take pictures of artifacts in our collections that will help us fill out these “empty” counties – hopefully someday we will turn the whole state blue!
