Tramaskecooc

Tramaskecooc was another town associated with the Secotan Nation, with this being in the northern part of their territory. Little is known about this town, although its name roughly translates to “people of the white-cedar swamps.” The name could also mean where tubers grow or a place of beavers. Regardless, as with many other town names, it was based in local ecology. The site of the town is thought to be in the Buck Ridge/Gum Neck area, although there have not been archaeological excavations to confirm this.
